Ingredients: water, malted barley, hops, pineapple, mango, yeast, jalapeño
Malts: 2-Row, Cara 8, White Wheat
Hops: Columbus, Centennial
ABV: 9%
IBU: 55

Description: A deadly combination of West Coast hops and Belgian spice, experience intense tropical fruit and phenol aromas with flavours of citrus, coriander, clove and spice, finishing with a moderate chili heat.

THE ARK OF TASTE: A project of Slow Food, the ‘Ark of Taste’ is a collections of heritage foods from around the world designed to acknowledge local food heritage of which Red Fife wheat was Canada’s first addition in 2003.

 


Dunkelweizen

The second in our ‘Red Fife Series’ this light bodied, unfiltered, dark wheat ale has distinctly Canadian heirloom Red Fife Wheat, roasted malt flavours balanced with a typical Bavarian light hop profile and hints of spice and fruit emanating from the classic Bavarian weizen yeast strain.

Featuring a classic German weizen yeast

strain and Vancouver Island Red Fife

wheat, our Hefeweizen is light and

refreshing with hints of vanilla, banana

and clove. Best enjoyed on the patio.

Our 1st blend of 5 varietals of 100% BC grown apples, unfiltered, unsulfured, & unpasterized. Each variety of apple is fermented individually  then blended to producea state of soft, round, complex fresh apple goodness.

Just released  is Pike's hommage to Spring: a sensual aphrodisiac, a Belgian-style IPA hybrid that balances the fruitiness delivered by Belgium yeast with the sophisticated dry herbal quality supplied by local hops (houblon in French). Pike Saison Houblon is a seasonal farmhouse-style ale, light, golden, and slightly turbid, with an incredible floral nose and complex mouth feel. Refreshingly hop forward for a Belgium-style Ale. 
ABV 6.2%     IBU 55     OG 1.060
Available on draft and in 22oz. dinner sized bottles.

PIKE MORNING AFTER PALE ALE 
Brewed by the women of Pike Brewing to commemorate Women in Beer, and to benefit Planned Parenthood. This year's annual brew is dry hopped with Summit hops. Ask for it at 'Pike Nights' at some of the cities most thoughtful pubs beginning the last week of April. Each pint you drink is a donation to women's reproductive health.

This is not news to anyone. But have you ruminated on just how large the gender gap is?  A 2018 survey by Nielsen-Harris  found American craft beer drinkers are 68.5 per cent male and 31.5 per cent female. Closer to home,  BeerMeBC’s 2018 survey  had those numbers at 71 and 29 per cent, with 0.32 per cent identifying as “other.” For those not so strong in the math department, that means that there are only three women drinking craft beer for every seven men. If you were a straight man looking for a date, you wouldn’t like those odds at all. And I can tell you, as one of those three women, it’s not much fun being outnumbered everywhere I go to enjoy my beloved craft beer, delightful as those seven men may be. The grandfather of Canadian brewing passed away yesterday. What's Brewing captured a final salute from John Mitchell to the BC craft beer community. Cheers to you, John, for all you've done for the beverage and community we all love.
